Elizabeth G. Slade
Elizabeth Slade earned her AMI Elementary degree from the Washington Montessori Institute in 1987. She taught in the private sector for 13 years before entering the public sector in 2000. She worked as a Mentor Teacher at the Zanetti Montessori School in Springfield, Massachusetts for seven years before going on to support the conversion of a second public school to Montessori, the Gerena Community School, coordinating the Montessori training and developing the Montessori program. She runs New View Montessori Consultancy, working with a variety of both public and private Montessori schools to help support their growth and development. Elizabeth is currently involved in bringing Montessori to the Hartford Public Schools. Elizabeth has her Massachusetts Administrative license and her AMS Administrative certification as well.
Sandra Wyner Andrew
(BS, M.Ed, CAGS)
Sandra began her career in education in 1968 and has a vast array of experience as both a teacher, a mentor and an administrator. Starting out as a science teacher in a British public school, she moved to Montessori Elementary Education 40 years ago after studying in Italy and gaining her AMI Montessori Elementary Certification. After working in private Montessori schools for many years, she was involved in the development
of the Zanetti Montessori Magnet Public School in Springfield MA, at first as a Montessori Mentor and then as its Principal. Sandra also holds a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Education Administration, an AMS Montessori Administrator's Certification and Massachusetts Administrator License. She is presently involved in Montessori Teacher Education and as an Educational Consultant for New View.
Gretchen has been a Montessori mentor, teacher, instructional leader and reading interventionist in the Springfield Public Schools for the past ten years. She has worked as a classroom teacher and administrator in both independent and public Montessori schools for over 40 years and brings a wealth of experience from these inter-connected worlds. Gretchen is a consultant and Montessori intern supervisor and presents workshops on a variety of topics. She is certified as a Childrens' House Teacher and Montessori Administrator and has completed her Elementary I coursework. She values the lifelong process of learning that characterizes Montessorians.
Heather McLean was a Montessori student in the primary level as well as the elementary level. She received her Early Childhood Montessori Certification, (2.5-7), in 1982 and her Elementary Montessori Certification, (6-12), in 1984 from Southwestern Montessori Training Center, (MACTE). Heather has taught at the toddler, primary, lower and upper elementary levels in private Montessori schools for many years. She has been a Montessori Teacher Trainer, consultant and Workshop presenter since 1987. Currently Heather divides her time between her two passions; Montessori training and painting.
